Tours over 7 days departing from Vientiane.

 

Vientiane / Xiengkhuang / Luang Prabang / Pakse / Saravan (8 Days / 7 Nights)
Day 01: Arrival in Vientiane by air or Friendship Bridge.  Transfer to hotel.  City tour including Sisakhet museum, Ho Pakeo, Thatluang Stupa, Patuxay (victory gate) and the Buddha Park.
Day 02: Fly to Xiengkhuang province (Ponsavanh airport) and transfer to your hotel.  Visit the main plain of jars (2500-3000 years old).  Travel by car on road No. 07 to Meuang Kham district, the main rice area in Xiengkhuang province.  Visit Tham Piu cave (a historic cave from the Indochina war).  After a picnic lunch, visit the hot spring at Banh Na Sok village, the hilltibe villages such as Hmong, Yao, etc.  Return to Ponsavanh city in the late evening.
Day 03: Morning visit the vegetable market and Posavanh temple.  Fly back to Vientiane and catch a connecting flight to Luang Prabang.  Boat cruise along the Mekong River to visit Pak Ou (Tham Ting) cave.  Along the way visit Banh Sang Hai where they make traditional sticky rice liquor.  Return by boat to Luang Prabang.  Visit Santi Chedi stupa and Banh Phanom village, a hand-weaving and textile village.
Day 04: City tour including Wat Visunnarad, Wat Mai, Wat Sen, Wat Xieng Thong, national museum and Phousi hill.   Transfer to the airport and fly back to Vientiane.
Day 05: Fly to Pakse.  Proceed by car to Saravan province, along the way visit hilltribe villages such as the Katou, Kaleum, Alak etc.  Visit Xeset waterfalls, take an elephant tour through the villages and forest.  Overnight at Tad Lo resort nearby the waterfalls.
Day 06: Travel by car back to Pakse and take a boat cruise down the Mekong River to Champasack.  Visit the Pre-Angkorian ancient Khmer temple "Wat Phou".  Return to overnight at Pakse.
Day 07: Visit the center market.  Fly back to Vientiane.  Free time at leisure.
Day 08: Shopping center market (Talad Sao) or visit revolutionary museum.  Then transfer to airport or Friendship Bridge for departure.

 

Houay Xai/Luang Prabang/Xiengkhuang/Vientiane/Pakse /Saravan/Wat Phou/Khong Island (11D/10N)
Day 01: Arrival Houay Xai.  Pick up and transfer to hotel.  City tour including Wat Chom Khao, Lan Tan tribe, and an area where they pan for sapphires.
Day 02: Travel by high speed boat down the Mekong river to Luang Prabang.  Along the way visit Pak Ou cave (Tham Ting).   Transfer to your hotel.
Day 03: City tour of Luang Prabang, including Wat Visunnarad, Wat Mai, Wat Sen, Wat Xieng Thong, Pha nom (a hand-weaving village), Wat Phone Phao, the National Museum and Phousi Hill.
Day 04: Fly to Xiengkhuang and transfer to your hotel.  Visit the plain of jars and the hilltribe village at nasala.   Return to your hotel late evening.
Day 05: Fly to Vientiane and transfer to your hotel.  City tour, including Wat Srisakhet, Ho Prakeo, Thatluang Stupa, and Pratuxay (victory gate).
Day 06: Visit the revolutionary museum, the Buddha park, the Mekong Friendship Bridge, the national cultural park and the shopping center market (Talad Sao).
Day 07: Early morning flight to Pakse.   Arrival and proceed by car to Saravan, visit Xeset waterfalls, pass hilltribe villages and take an elephant ride.  Overnight at Tad Lo resort.
Day 08: Travel by car from Saravan back to Pakse, then by boat to Champasack.  Visit the Pre-Angkorian temple "Wat Phou".  Proceed by car to Khong island and overnight.
Day 09: By long tail boat explore the 400 islands.  There is an old French bridge and locomotive on Khone island and take a short walk (about 2 kms) to visit Lipi waterfalls.  Visit the widest Mekong waterfall "Khone Pha Pheng".  Return and overnight on Khong island.
Day 10: Travel by car from Khong island to Pakse.  Along the way visit the ancient Khmer temple "Ou Mong" hidden in the tropical forest.
Day 11: City tour of Pakse.  Transfer to Chong Mek, the Lao-Thai border before departure to Ubon, Thailand.
