This
is an all-inclusive tour package with the following features:
Guaranteed
departure as long as two people have enrolled (there will be an
international escort with 10 or more on the tour; your guide and
driver will pick you up at the airport in Vietnam).

Day
1: Depart United States for Vietnam. Lose one day crossing the
International Dateline.
Day
2: enroute to
Vietnam.
Day
3: Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in the morning. After
processing through customs, check into the Rex Hotel and go to
lunch. Afternoon tour: Reunification Hall, the former
Presidential Palace as it was on April 30, 1975; and the
Remnants of War Museum.
Day
4: Excursion into the Mekong Delta with a cruise on the mighty
Mekong river. Visit a working orchard island where you can
sample tropical fruits, visit in a farmer's home, and take a
gondola ride on narrow jungle canals. Lunch at a riverside
restaurant where the specialty is "elephant-ear" fish.
Day
5: Full day tour of Saigon: Ben Thanh Market; History Museum;
Cho Lon, Saigon's Chinatown including the Thien Hau Chinese
Pagoda; Central Post Office designed by Gustav Eiffel (You will
want to buy post cards and stamps to send to your relatives and
friends at home), Notre Dame Cathedral, City Theater (formerly
the South Vietnam Parliament Building), shopping on Dong Khoi,
Le Loi and Nguyen Hue Streets), and lacquerware workshop.
Evening dinner cruise on the Saigon River.
Day
6: Venture into the highlands with a drive through beautiful
mountain scenery to Da Lat, the honeymoon center of Vietnam.
Stay at the plush Novotel Hotel. Stops on the way at the
fascinating La Nga Floating village and the spectacular Dam Bri
Cascade. Rubber, coffee, tea, and mulberry plantations along the
way.
Day
7: Visit two Montagnard (Hilltribe) villages-the Lat and Chil
tribes. See the summer villa of the last Emperor of Vietnam, Bao
Dai. Visit the Valley of Love and a hilltop Chinese Pagoda with
Nine-Dragon Walls.
Day
8: Shop in the multi-level Da Lat Market before starting on a
drive to Nha Trang. After driving through mountain passes,
arrive at the Po Klong Garai Cham Towers at Phan Rang. Continue
to Nha Trang where you will stay at the high-rise Nha Trang
Lodge across from Nha Trang's beautiful beach. Relax after
dinner on the beach or wander the city streets behind your
hotel.
Day
9: Start the day with a brief visit to the Po Nagar Cham Towers
and a scenic overlook of the river mouth. Tour the harbor
islands. Swimming on an island beach, eat at an island
restaurant, see the famous aquarium, and ride in a small
basket-like fishing boat. Optional activities: skin diving or
scuba diving among the colorful coral reefs teeming with
tropical fishes, rent jet-skis.
Day
10: Fly to Da Nang in the morning (8:15 - 9:30). Drive to Hoi
An, a charming ancient town which once was the capital and major
port of Central Vietnam. Visit historic homes with Japanese and
Chinese architecture, Chinese community halls, the covered
Japanese Bridge, and the old port. Shop in the quaint shops
loaded with excellent Vietnamese art and crafts. Return to Da
Nang. Stay at the Bamboo Green Hotel.
Day
11: Visit the Marble Mountains where you will see a pagoda and
large Buddha Statue built into the mountainside, a famous cave
where Viet Cong were killed by a US bomb which made a hole in
the cave roof, stone thrones which only the Emperor could sit
upon, and spectacular views of Da Nang. Watch the stone carvers
fashion small and large figurines from the natural marble of the
area. Swim at China Beach. Visit the Cham Museum where you can
see artifacts of this ancient civilization gathered from various
locations throughout Vietnam.
Day
12: Drive over the Hai Van Pass on mountain roads hugging the
mountainside on one side with cliffs dropping off to the ocean
on the other side. Arrive in the Imperial Capital of Hue and go
to the Citadel, Vietnam's Forbidden City and home to the
Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty. Explore the Citadel and the
giant Flag Tower. Stay at the ornate Huong Giang Hotel with an
Imperial Palace theme.
Day
13: Take a full day excursion starting with a river cruise on
the Perfume River to the famous Thien Mu Pagoda. Also visit the
beautiful tomb of Emperor Tu Duc and the more modern mausoleum
of Emperor Khai Dinh. Flight from Hue to Saigon at 4:55 arriving
Saigon at 6:25. Dinner in Saigon. Return to the Rex Hotel.
Day
14: Free time until departure for home.
